ALVA member visitor figures for 2021 revealed: outdoor attractions recovering most quickly, indoor attractions and those dependent on overseas visitors are experiencing a slower recovery.

Visitor Attractions need continued support as number of visitors going to UK attractions in 2021 remain at 57% below 2019 pre-pandemic figures.

The Association of Leading Visitor Attractions (ALVA) has released the visitor figures of its members for 2021 today (Friday, March 18, 2022), which saw a strong demand for outdoor attractions whether gardens; parks; forests or zoos. The total number of visits to ALVA sites in 2021 was 67.8million, which was a 25% increase on the previous year, but represented an annual decline of 57% on the 156.6million visits in 2019 to the top 306 ALVA sites.
