Excurio and The Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle create evolutionary VR experience

Virtual reality creators Excurio has teamed up with experts from The Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle to create Life Chronicles London, a free-roaming VR experience.

Visitors to Eclipso Centre in London’s Westfield Stratford mall have access to The UK’s first 1,000sqm free-roaming VR experience.

Led by a virtual guide, the 45-minute experience is the first of its kind to take visitors on a virtual journey of the major geological periods in the evolution of the earth and life itself.

With an immersive soundscape visitors experience scenes spanning billions of years, from the paleo-landscapes of the great geological periods to the first traces of life, including the great dinosaurs and the rise of Humans.

Excurio worked closely with experts from the Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle on this project. Paleontologists, paleobotanists, evolution specialists, and bioacousticians from the museum all contributed to elements of script writing, 3D production and sound design.

Life Chronicles is Excurio’s second virtual reality offering in the UK following on from the success of 2023’s ancient Egyptian experience, The Horizon of Khufu.

Life Chronicles runs Mondays to Fridays 11am-7pm, Saturday and Sunday 9am-8pm. Tickets are £21 (US$27, €25) for adults and £18 (US$23, €21.40) for under 18s and people with disabilities.
